According to the terms of the Woot offer each console sold for USD 499.99 + USD 5.00 for postage and packing. According to Woot's, extremely thorough, statistics an order for a PS3 was received every 3.5 seconds, during the 4 or so minutes that the offer lasted. Sworn enemies of the PS3 are likely to comment that the 80 units available are not an adequate quantity to excite Sony execs but this is the type of story we haven't heard since the PS3 launch and it may indicate a trend for the holiday season, a trend which may help salvage Sony's pride as its console has been at the receiving end of a lot of criticism by some very respectable press organizations such as the Sunday Times and TIME magazine.
