In a conference call with investors, Take Two officials revealed their plans to utilize Bioshock as a long term franchise.
Answering an analyst question on properly whetting fan appetite without milking a franchise, Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick said that while sports games are suited for annual releases, but it is "optimal" for other games to be released on a "roughly every two year schedule".
Zelnick noted that they have followed the same schedule with their most successful franchise, Grand Theft Auto. Zelnick then added that they "are applying the same strategy for Bioshock" and that they feel "awfully good about where that's going."
