Description
4HEAD Studios, the game development house behind the Guild series, have joined forces with 3D-IO to work on the next-generation console game Beowulf.

Beowulf is a promising title, expected to spawn a franchise, that is currently under development by a joint venture of European entertainment software companies. In addition to 4HEAD, the initiative is comprised of art and animation studio 3D-IO and other partners.

Beowulf is a combat-driven action adventure game set in the realms of nordic mythology. It tells the story of a daring hero, Beowulf, and his adventures in the times of the early viking age. The innovative new fighting system and the exceptional story and characters make this game a must-have for action.

The original Beowulf is a poem in anglo-saxon language, written down by an anonymous poet around the year 1000 AD.

Beowulf is the great masterpiece of Anglo-Saxon literature. For centuries, it was orally passed from generation to generation by northern european peoples. The highly artistic, action-filled narrative is entangled with warrior’s speeches, songs, chants, remembrances of battles past, and pagan mythology. It testifies to the great upheavals that occurred in northern civilizations as the poem took form during the early middle ages. Like no other work of art, this saga captures the archaic spirit of the viking age.

BEOWULF can rightfully claim to be the ancestor of modern-day Sword & Sorcery. Its served as source of inspiration for many stories and novels, including Tolkien's The Lord of The Rings.

adventure enthusiasts. Beowulf is currently being offered for publishing. The game's website at www.beowulfgame.com offers a host of material and background information.
